We scheduled a corporate recognition dinner for promotions and awards a few years ago. It was a dismal failure. We had to make the following ones mandatory and on company time. Needless to say, we did not schedule many. However, one manager located corporate after dinner entertainment that made our events so much fun that we had employees wanting to bring more guests with them. We had to do ticket lotteries in order to not overbook the promotion and award ceremonies for our company.
Of course, people were not lining up to attend the ceremonies, they wanted the food and fun. The corporate after dinner entertainment we hired is an experienced comedic magician who has a really incredible act. The audience is wowed with the comedy and the illusions. It is a fun time for everyone. We are able to honor employees who have received promotions and awards, and the people who are not being officially honored have a great time too. I am just glad they no longer have to be mandatory. However, I do wish they were on company time. It would be cool to be paid to have fun. Still, they are something we actually look forward to now.
The improvement in the catered food is amazing, and the corporate after dinner entertainment is the biggest thing. It is no longer just one long awards ceremony we can hardly wait to get through. It is fun and engaging. Everyone can have fun. The illusionist is superb, in my opinion. The guy is really funny too. That makes all the difference. You get to laugh and be amazed at the same time. This is no regular magic show you just sit back and watch. He gets up close and personal to interact with people. It really makes you feel as if you are part of the show.
